Your Guide to Black Friday Furniture Deals

Posted by Carlee on November 1, 2023

With Black Friday just a few weeks away it's time to start making plans for those must-have items. And while most people are racing to snag the latest phone and the hottest toys, it might be the perfect moment to consider something a little different.

Think of it this way; isn't it time to breathe new life into your home? Maybe it's that old couch that's seen better days, or a dining table with a wobbly leg. Maybe it's time for some new bedroom furniture or a new mattress.

Upgrading these essentials doesn’t just pave the way for a fresh start to the new year, but with some amazing deals available, you'll be pocketing significant savings too. So, while the allure of tech and toys is hard to resist, think about the long-term joy of sprucing up your living space this shopping season.

Unlike many other products, furniture is a long-term investment. It's not something you’ll change seasonally, like clothing, or upgrade annually. So, when it goes on sale, especially with Black Friday-level discounts, we encourage you to take notice. This is your opportunity to purchase quality pieces — be it a plush new sofa, a durable dining set, patio furniture, or a state-of-the-art adjustable bed — at a fraction of the price.

Recent Trends and Black Friday

A 2022 study showed that 76% of people in the U.S. were ready to shop on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Most wanted clothes (49%), toys (29%), or jewelry (26%). However, only 18% thought about buying furniture.

We get it, a new bed frame or coffee table might not be the first thing that springs to mind for Black Friday.

Furniture is about longevity. If you've recently splurged on a new sofa or fridge, you're unlikely to be looking for a replacement anytime soon.

Additionally, Black Friday and Cyber Monday tap into our love for instant gratification. There's an undeniable satisfaction in immediately taking home several shopping bags filled with new goodies. In contrast, furniture shopping often means waiting for deliveries, and the delay can curb the thrill, even if the deal was fantastic.

There's also a mental game at play. Spending a significant chunk of your budget on an accent chair might feel less satisfying than spreading it out on multiple smaller purchases. Buying more stuff feels like more value, even if the overall amount is the same.

Just keep in mind that retailers use this unofficial holiday as an opportunity to introduce new collections and clear out older stock.

If you're interested in purchasing items with the latest technology this means access to those pieces.

If you’re looking for significant savings, you’ll find classic pieces at clearance rates.

Either way, you win.

Pros of Buying Furniture on Black Friday

Significant Discounts

Depending on what you’re buying discounts generally range anywhere from 10-70%. Large items like sofas, beds, and dining sets often see substantial price cuts. Given their higher price points, even a 20-30% discount can translate to savings of hundreds of dollars.

When hunting for appliances, look for extra perks, like cash-back rebates or free installation. In addition to a reduced price, you could potentially save on those additional costs.

Extra Deals

While the discounts are definitely a draw, don't get too caught up on just the price tag. Many stores offer good financing deals, allowing you to spread out payments with super low-interest rates. This can be a win-win, letting you manage costs better and potentially build up your credit. So, as you hunt for deals, remember to keep these benefits in mind.

Hidden Gems

Furniture stores, not just tech shops, often surprise shoppers with deals on TVs and even gaming consoles like the PS5, Xbox, and Switch on Black Friday. While many head straight to electronics stores, those who explore furniture outlets might find the TV or console they desire with fewer crowds.

Calmer Crowds

Speaking of crowds, many opt out of Black Friday shopping to avoid the typical frenzy surrounding limited-stock items. Yet, furniture stores offer a distinct atmosphere. Shoppers often come in with a purpose: to test and size up specific pieces. It's rare to impulsively snag a couch or dining set. While we do have a selection of smaller, home decor pieces on sale and maybe a few rugs that you could easily snag, the overall ambiance in the store is generally more relaxed, reflecting a calmer shopping experience.

However, although you might not see shoppers physically tussling over a sleek fridge or a luxurious leather sectional, don't be lulled into a false sense of leisure. Given the high demand, if a specific brand or design sparks your interest, it's wise to seal the deal quickly. Procrastination not only risks missing out due to limited stock but can also lead to extended delivery times for latecomers.

Selection

During Black Friday, furniture stores really step up their game. Whether you're in-store or online, you're spoiled for choice. From big brands to unique designs, it's the perfect time to explore and compare, ensuring you find the perfect fit for your space.

Although there are clear benefits to furniture shopping on this day, it's equally important to be aware of some challenges.

Cons of Buying Furniture on Black Friday

Long Waits

Yes, there will be some amazing furniture deals, but it's not without its challenges. The showrooms can get busy, making it a bit tough to navigate. And with the rush, getting help from store staff might take a tad longer. Once you've chosen your piece, brace yourself for those extended checkout lines. The discounts are worth it, but it's good to be prepared for the busy atmosphere.

Delivery Delays

The holiday season means a boom in sales, which can lead to some delivery challenges. With so many orders coming in, delivery schedules are packed tight. Moving big items like a bed frame or sectional isn't a quick job; it needs careful handling and the right vehicles. Even with extra hands on deck for the season, they might be adjusting to the pace. Factor in the usual holiday traffic and possible wild weather, and delays become more understandable.

Slow Returns

Returning furniture isn't quite as simple as other items, especially after the bustling holiday season. Given the size and specialized handling required for these items, the process is naturally more involved. After the rush, retailers are often still playing catch-up, leading to potential delays in processing returns. If you're planning on returning something, it's wise to factor in a bit more time than usual and remain patient as businesses navigate the post-holiday workload.

Conclusion

Black Friday isn't just about snagging the latest gadgets or fashion deals; it's a great opportunity to bring new energy into your home. Imagine starting the new year with a revamped room, a more comfortable sofa, or a functional washer and dryer set. It's not just about looks; the right furniture makes your home comfortable and shapes it into the perfect place for building memories.

As the festive season nears, we at RC Willey believe that every home tells a story, and Black Friday is the perfect time to start a new chapter. And the best part? Our Black Friday deals mean that transforming your home doesn't have to strain your wallet. Take a look at our inventory and let us help you create a space that reflects you, all while staying within budget. Remember, home is where the heart is, so why not invest where it matters most?

Rug Buying Guide

Posted by RC Willey Community on October 17, 2022

3 Steps to Finding the Perfect Rug

Nothing pulls a room together better than the right area rug. Versatile in design and function, area rugs are a natural focal point that helps set the mood of a space. However, we understand that it can be overwhelming to find the *right one.* But have no fear! RC Willey is here to help you on your journey of saying yes to the perfect rug. Follow these three steps:

Step 1: Start with Rug Sizing

This one is pretty straightforward. Decide first what room/space you’re wanting a rug for, and we’ll go from there. Keep in mind that as a general rule, you’ll want to leave a minimum of 6 inches and a maximum of 18 inches of space between the edge of your rug and the walls to give your room the best aesthetic.

Picking the Right Living Room Rug

  • In the living room, you’ll want the rug to be an anchor for your furniture setup. We recommend that all front legs stay on the rug to help blend the room nicely.
  • Standard sizes such as 5 x 8 or 6 x 9 are great for smaller setups (i.e., loveseats, armchairs, small sofas) with front legs on the rug.
  • Standard sizes such as 8 x 10 and 9 x 12 are more appropriate for mid-sized and larger setups (i.e., sectionals, chaise sofas, and multiple standard sofas). With these setups, place the rug under the furniture with just the front legs or all four legs on top.

Shop Living Room Rugs

Picking the Right Dining Room Rug

  • Rugs are such a great addition to the dining area. Not only do they protect your floors from sliding chairs, but they also make the room more inviting by visually anchoring your dining furniture.
  • For sizing, measure your table and add about 3 feet to both height and width. This provides enough room for chairs to stay on the rug when slid out from under the table.
  • If you have an expandable table, keep the expanded size in mind when choosing your rug.

Shop Dining Room Rugs

Picking the Right Bedroom Rug

  • Placing an area rug in your bedroom will help define the space and tie your bedroom décor together. If you have hard flooring, an area rug can also help protect your floors from scratches.
  • For twin or full-size beds, we recommend placing a 5 x 8 or 6 x 9 area rug in your room. For queen or king-size beds, we would recommend an 8 x 10 or 9 x 12 area rug.
  • Generally, it’s a good idea to place your rug under the front two-thirds of the bed and the front two legs of the nightstands; or under the entire furniture setup depending on the size of your room.
  • Measure your bed and add about 3 feet on both sides for design purposes and to give enough room for your feet to walk on in the morning.

Picking the Right Outdoor Rug

Outdoor rugs can really add so much charm to your porch, patio, or deck! Machine-woven synthetic fibers such as polyester easily withstand the elements and are a dream to clean. Leaves, dirt, or mud covering your rug? No problem. Pressure wash or spray it down with a hose and let it dry out in the sun. It’s fade-resistant by nature, so you can rest easy knowing that it’ll withstand the test of time!

Shop Outdoor Rugs

Step 2: Consider Material & Construction

You want your rug to last and look good, too. Believe it or not, the right material and construction can make a big difference in the placement and durability of your rug!

In the living room, we would recommend a low-pile, easy-to-clean wool or polyester rug due to its fade and stain-resistant qualities. Sometimes people think that rugs made from these materials are “scratchy” and “unappealing.” We’d like to show you how they are not only a gorgeous addition to your home but also comfortable, inviting, and durable. Take a look!

Shop Polyester Rugs

Want to create a personal haven for your room? Add a high-pile, hand-tufted thick shag rug with neutral soothing tones. Imagine waking up and stepping onto a soft, warm pillow... Yeah, it’s time to add that rug to your room. We usually like polypropylene and polyester rugs for this space – but because this room usually doesn’t deal with dirt or high traffic, focus more on the pile height that suits your fancy.

Washable Rugs

Messes, crumbs, and spills! Should I even put a rug in the kitchen? If you’re wanting to cozy up the space or add some accent colors, we absolutely love how a rug can accomplish just that. Whether in the dining room or kitchen, hand-knotted wool or flat-weave jute rug can easily be maintained through their durable nature and their ability to absorb spills. You’ll definitely want something that is simple to clean, so we would also recommend our machine-washable area rugs (we’re not biased or anything, but we’re kind of in love with these).

Step 3: Decide on Style, Pattern, and Design

This can be the most intimidating part of finding that perfect area rug! It can be difficult to know how to find a rug that not only mirrors your personality but also meshes well with existing furniture and décor. Thankfully, there are some tried and true rules you can follow when determining what style is best for you.

Rugs are like a “work of art” for your floor! Don’t be afraid to choose vibrant colors and abstract patterns, especially if the room is full of solid-colored furniture. If your room already has a ton of color veer towards a more neutral pattern and tone. When choosing which color, it’s best to decide what you’d like for the overall feel of the room. Darker, moody colors such as cool purples, blues, blacks, and grays will create a more intimate setting and potentially make the room smaller. Whereas light whites, pinks, oranges, and other neutrals can visually open up and brighten the space. Starting out with this in mind can help you in your search! We’ll go over the different styles you can choose from to understand how this correlates with existing decor. RC Willey has furniture and accessories for every style, taste, and budget.

These styles can feature abstract, floral, geometric, vintage, or other patterns for your specific taste! And we're going to let you in on a secret... We have a really easy way of finding the exact style and pattern for your rug. Just adjust the filters for your search and voila!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a rug pad?

Designers will always recommend a rug pad, no matter what rug you buy or where you place it! Not only does it hold your rug in place to prevent sliding, but it can also prolong the life of the rug by absorbing the impact of your footsteps – thus protecting the fibers from being damaged by constant floor traffic. If you have hard floors, this is a must as it adds warmth with the extra insulation from the pad. Having a rug is nice, but if you’re constantly having to readjust the position and lay it flat after some good rough-housing from the kids, you’ll most likely end up regretting adding that perfect splash of color to your room. Trust us, we speak from experience when we say - don’t make this mistake!

You’ll want something breathable and comfortable, especially with hard floors. If hard flooring doesn’t get enough air, it tends to become discolored. Your rug pad should be an inch or two smaller than the rug. Be sure to verify the size of your rug and rug pad to ensure you purchase one that fits accurately. You may need to trim the pad with scissors or a razor to get an accurate fit. Visit our page for more information!

Can I Vacuum My Rug?

Yes, you can vacuum your rug!

By removing the dust and dirt buildup that naturally occurs over time with a vacuum, you’re extending the life of your rug. However, vacuums are getting more and more powerful as the years go on, so make sure you do it the right way to protect your rug. Some newer vacuums have a specific “low-pile, area rug” option which will work for most rugs. If your vacuum does not have this feature, we recommend removing the beater bar as it can easily loosen or tear rug fibers. Using the gentle rug attachments is great and can also help remove dust on the binding of the rug as well. It is noteworthy to mention that some shedding is normal in the first few months of receiving your rug, so there is no cause for concern if this is happening.

Shop Vacuums

How Do I Clean Spills?

Mud spots, milk spills, and smashed food... we get it! Life happens. That’s why spot-cleaning your rug is the best way to minimize stains. Most manufacturers recommend spot cleaning with mild soap and water using a clean, white cloth. Remember to only blot the stain, never rub it in. Treat the rug on both sides with the mixture, blot it with a dry cloth, and repeat until the stain fades away. If the stain is not coming out, it may warrant a trip to be professionally cleaned (we suggest doing this anyway every one to two years).

How do I Extend the Life of my Rug?

The Yearly Rotation

As a rule, rotate your rug a full 180 degrees every year. Doing so specific spots from fading or wearing more than others. Set that reminder up on your r up in your phone and forget about it!

Use the Rug Pad

Here’s our friendly reminder to get that rug pad! We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again... A rug pad provides extra cushioning and prevents slips by keeping the rug in one place. Your rug will have a better chance of survival from continual foot traffic by having the rug pad absorb the friction and pressure.

Enjoy your New Rug!

How to Arrange Sofas and Loveseats

Posted by Alexandria on January 21, 2022

Best Ways to Arrange a Sofa and a Loveseat

Love is in the air and sprinkling some of its special flavor into your living room decor could be just the right amount of je ne sais quoi to make Valentine’s Day date night extra special. Sofas and loveseats are both perfect for cuddling, but understanding how to arrange them when decorating can be a challenge. That’s why we put together this handy guide of things to consider when arranging sofas and loveseats.

Know the Difference Between a Sofa and Loveseat

Although loveseats and sofas have a lot of similar characteristics, they do differ in a few key features. Knowing how to tell the difference between a loveseat and sofa could be key to improving your living room’s functionality and aesthetic appeal.

The biggest difference between the two pieces is size. Sofas typically come in a multiplicity of styles and shapes. They often have extra features like recliners built into the frame. In contrast, loveseats stay true to the images their names conjure and remain ideal for two people. Smaller and more compact, loveseats can fit into tight areas, but lack the bells and whistles of their larger sofa cousins

Size-wise, standard loveseats typically run about 60 inches long. Compare that with the average sofa, which ranges between 75 to 91 inches, and you’ll quickly see just how noticeable that length difference is when indoors. For apartments or townhouses, a loveseat might be a better investment since it frees up walking space and could make your living area feel more open. However, if you plan on having the friends and family over regularly for Sunday-night football, adding a sofa with plenty of available seating could make more sense. Either way, you’ll get a spot to throw your feet up and relax in your significant other’s arms. Nothing says Valentine’s Day like a night binging TV shows.

Experiment with Arrangements

If you have the bandwidth, incorporating both a loveseat AND a sofa in the same space is an effective and highly popular way of arranging living room furniture. Since both sofas and loveseats are typically upholstered and have underlying wood frame constructions, you can often find matching sets at your local furniture store. Sets save you the hassle of mixing and matching pieces as they typically come with same-length seat heights and proportional sizing.

Buying multiples of the same furniture piece is also a good way to elevate your living room’s decor. Instead of purchasing a six-seater couch, buy three small loveseats and arrange them in a U-shaped pattern. This design not only provides more walking room, but it also looks strategically aligned and immediately gives your living space a clear focal point.

Maximize Your Space

Loveseats and sofas can work in tandem to define nebulous living spaces and traffic flows. If your floor plan has an open space between the living room and your dining area, a strategically placed loveseat can create a border that delineates where guests should eat versus where they should sit and socialize. To reinforce this separation, consider buying a large rug that expands to the edges of your sofa and loveseat. Accent rugs are also good items for dividing larger spaces into smaller, functionally defined areas.

Here are some additional ideas for maximizing space with a sofa and loveseat set:

These ideas — along with many others — can help make your living room a curated place of relaxation, socialization, and entertainment.

Know Your Room’s Purpose

Of course, loveseats and sofas don’t just have to be confined to living rooms. Bedrooms, sitting rooms, and home offices also benefit from these designated sitting places. Thinking critically about the purpose of your space can help narrow down furniture options. For example, a sofa may make more sense for a “Netflix and chill” room since it allows for more lounge space and different sitting positions. Alternatively, a loveseat can be a nice addition to a master bedroom set as a napping spot or reading chair.

Sofas and loveseats also differ in the number of cushions each has, which is another attribute to take into consideration when thinking about the purpose of your soon-to-be decorated space. Loveseats typically have 1 to 2 cushions whereas sofas can range from an average of 2 to 4. Similarly, couch cushions are typically longer and plusher than their loveseat compatriots. For longer movie watching experiences or mid-afternoon catnaps, a sofa would work better.

However, if you envision your room as a place for conversation and light drinks, a sofa and loveseat combination may make a better alternative. Placing two coffee tables in the middle of your seating arrangement lengthens the room and provides easy access to guests with cups or plates. Another idea is to add accent chairs in a U-shape, which is great for facilitating conversation.

Identify Focal Points

Finally, identifying a clear focal point in your living room ties all your decor and furniture together in a purposeful way. In a room with a fireplace, the hearth is an obvious focal point. Arranging a loveseat perpendicular to the fireplace highlights its design while offering a warm and intimate place for sitting. If you don’t’ have a fireplace, a window serves as a nice focal point, particularly if two loveseats fan out from it in an L shape. Ideally, you’ll want to place your sofa or loveseat roughly 10 ft from the focal point in question. This opens your space up and allows for more walking room.

Passport Marine Blue Sofa

For rooms without obvious focal points, you can arrange your furniture and decor to create an artificial one. Placing a sofa parallel to a loveseat (with both facing inward) and adding two lounge chairs on either side creates a square. Putting an ottoman or coffee table in the center draws visitors’ eyes and gives your room visual structure.

Ultimately, sofas and loveseats are excellent pieces for classing up any living room area and can be placed in a wide variety of arrangements. When decorating, it comes down to knowing your space’s purpose, accounting for movement, and creating a single focal point. Whatever formation and furniture combination you decide on, you can rest assured that Valentine’s Day — and your romantic night in — will feel homier than ever before.

We all know dogs are man’s best friend, but shopping for their owners can sometimes be a tricky — dare we say, ruff — business. Luckily, we put together a list of the best gifts for dog lovers that will have all your furry friends rolling over in excitement this holiday season. Whether your friend’s canine companion is large, small, old, or still in their puppy years, the paw-sibilities are endless with these 10 pet-friendly gifts.

Gifts for New Dog Moms (and Dads)

Getting a dog is an exciting and stressful time for new pet parents. Here are some ideas for the best dog mom (and dad) gifts that will prepare homes for incoming puppies just before Santa Claus arrives.

One of the hardest parts about getting a new dog is having to vacuum up that dreaded first layer of freshly shed puppy fur. With the Roomba i7+ Robot Vacuum, though, you won’t even have to give it a second thought. This automated powerhouse learns, maps, and adapts using Imprint Smart Mapping technology. Headed out for a night on the town and want to come back to a clean, fur-less living room? No problem. Large Gusset Brown Dog Bed A gift for dog lovers that new pet parents do NOT want is waking up at 3 a.m. on stormy nights to stressed out puppy whining. That’s why the most essential item in any new dog owner’s arsenal is this Large Gusset Brown Dog Bed. Not only will it keep pooches comfy and calm all night long, but it’s a heck of a lot cuter than an old, beat up sleeping mat in your living room. The cute “sleeps with dogs” detailed on a brown finish offers just enough personality to stand out without clashing with the rest of your home’s furniture. Plus, who doesn’t love a good pup-themed play on words?

Available in three styles, this sentimental mug and leash set makes the perfect personalized puppy gift for the owner that takes their dog on long walks in the morning with a cup of Jo in hand. Knit with muted blues and pastel colors to create a soft, yet fun design, this blanket will add just the right amount of style to any dog lover’s collection of trinkets. Sure, it’s meant to be used for a human child’s nursery, but to some owners, dogs are their children — and that indisputable truth makes this gift idea as practical as it is adorable. Wrap up your pup for Christmas Eve so visions of sugarplums dance in their heads…or, you know, whatever the dog equivalent of “sugar plums” is.
Everyone knows dog lovers are a sappy bunch, so here’s a gift that will really evoke furry friend-related emotion every time they walk through the front door. This Man’s Best Friend Doormat is a simple, yet powerful reminder of just how important dogs can be in our lives — not to mention it’s incredibly useful for those muddy days when you need a place to wipe off your feet (and paws) before going in the house. Made of poly stone, this brown and white bench will be the perfect addition to any garden or outdoor sanctuary. Plus, it’s a great place to sit down and play a nice game of fetch with your pooch.

If you’d rather save them for the following year, store them in the included compact box. Either way, these pine trees are sure to be a hit at your next holiday get-together.

The Santa Edition: Cutest Christmas Decor for 2021

Santa Claus isn’t known for getting lost, but this Red MDF Milk and Cookie Standing Sign ensures that he won’t miss your house. Sturdy and colorful, this sign points the way for a sleigh of reindeer to safely land on your rooftop. Indoors, it directs Jolly Old Saint Nick to a plate of midnight snacks — hopefully one strategically placed next to a row of stockings. Make Santa (and other holiday guests) feel right at home with this adorable, festive sign. Milk and Cookie Standing Sign
Assorted Red Off White Brown Santa Boot Container Although most snow boots aren’t fit for public display, these Assorted Red, Off-White, and Brown Santa Boot Containers are an exception. Available in two colors, these boots double as vases for bright red poinsettia or any other types of festive flora and fauna you prefer. Fit for outdoor and indoor spaces, these decorations come with a sturdy and easy-to-clean exterior. On Christmas Eve, you may even find that Santa wishes he owned a pair! Add these to your list of the cutest Christmas decor for 2021.
Nothing says retro Christmas more than this Blue, Red and White 18 inch Ho Ho Ho Santa Throw Pillow. Plump and jolly — kind of like the guy whose face graces their covers — these pillows are a great edition to any holiday decor. Allow visitors to lean against them on your sitting room sofa or position them just so in case the Jolly Old Elf himself needs a catnap in between gift deliveries. “Ho! Ho! Ho!” your way into the holidays and prepare to celebrate Christmas like it’s 1955. Blue Red and White 18 Inch Ho Ho Ho Santa Throw Pillow

Tiny Balconies

Posted by Alyssa on April 30, 2019

balcony

In college, I had a tiny balcony that I loved but never used. The idea of sitting outside in a cozy space sounds fun until you step out onto an ugly, cement balcony with dingy outdoor carpet on the floor. If you have a balcony, don’t settle for simply throwing up a camping chair! You can make your tiny balcony a haven. Check out how below!

Tiny Balconies

You may not have room for a full table and chairs, but how about a bench? Cover the bench with cushions and pillows and you’ve got yourself somewhere you’ll want to relax.

hammock

via Historias de Casa

A hammock strung between the walls of your balcony is the perfect way to kick back and relax.

Fill your balcony with greenery and plants. You can even plant some vegetables and have a small garden right out your door.

umbrella

If your balcony gets a lot of sun and is too hot to sit comfortably, install an awning or bring in an umbrella to add a little shade.

String twinkle lights to create ambiance and a place you would want to hang out.

Hide unappealing flooring with an outdoor rug.

Do you have a tiny balcony? How have you decorated it?

Favorite Outdoor Rugs

rugs

I just got an outdoor rug and it is amazing how much of a difference it makes in the overall look and feel of my patio! The moment we put down the rug, our patio finally felt finished. If you haven’t thought about an outdoor rug, you may want to consider one. Not only do outdoor rugs make it easier to give your patio a design upgrade, but they can also cover up any damaged areas of your outdoor flooring. If you’re looking to make an impact with your outdoor space, you need an outdoor rug! At RC Willey we have all the outdoor rugs your need. Here are some of my favorites -

Apartment Decor

Posted by Alyssa on March 21, 2019

apartment

When it comes to decorating your apartment, it can be hard to find the motivation to actually make your apartment feel like home. If you’re planning on only being there a short time it can be tempting to just deal with what you have, but once you’ve decorated your apartment you’ll be able to see what a difference a few personal touches can make! With RC Willey’s Small Spaces Furniture, you’ll be able to fill your apartment with things you love and create a space you want to stay in.

apartment

via Livabl

Find furniture that makes a statement. Most apartments are pretty basic, so adding pops of color or style will immediately make your home stand out. Something like this turquoise sofa sleeper or this leather sectional would be perfect!

rugs

via RC Willey

Create a more layered look by adding rugs. Most likely your apartment has uninspired carpet or easy to clean laminate flooring. Rugs will make your room cozier and will help tie everything together. I love the looks of this charcoal rug, don’t you?

art

via Domino

Just because you’re in an apartment doesn’t mean you shouldn’t display art. In fact, displaying art is the best way to make a room feel finished and lived in! If you aren’t able to put holes in the wall to hang your art, propping it up against a fireplace mantel or on top of a dresser will work as well.

couch

via RC Willey

Apartments often lack storage, so if you can find furniture that has storage options you’ll be able to have a much more organized and put together apartment. For a guest room or a kid’s room, this daybed with storage underneath would be a great way to save space.

curtains

via Emily Henderson

Window coverings can be dirty, old, or worn out so consider adding curtains to hide the eyesore. It’ll completely change the feel of the room!

Do you have any good ideas for apartment decor?
