How to Take the Stress out of Family Photo Planning

Posted by Andie on June 11, 2013

There aren't many things in this world as stressful as getting ready for family pictures to be taken.  If you're family is like my family, they don't happen all that often, so any given family picture is usually immortalized on the wall for at least 5 years.  Isn't it great to know that if you looked horrible you'll be reminded for a very long time?

I'm always anxious for weeks beforehand trying to coordinate the perfect outfits for my little family.  You want everyone to look good together without being too "matchy matchy"- and that can be very tricky to do! Unless you're an expert, picking a color palette can be a total nightmare, especially since everyone has different opinions about which colors they like and dislike.  It can be totally exhausting.

We just had family pictures taken a couple of weeks ago, and I found a website called Design Seeds that saved us this time around!  There are beautiful photos of everything from a Siberian Tiger, a bowl of fresh raspberries, a charming street corner, to a beautiful field of flowers.  Alongside the photos are color palettes created from the colors in the picture.  It's amazing!  Simply find a picture you love, and BAM- you have a color palette created for you!  Perfect when it comes to planning outfits for family pictures, or for decorating your home!  Go check it out!!

Here are some of my favorite examples from the Design Seeds website.....
