It's important to choose the correct size of water softener to meet your family's needs. There are many factors to consider when choosing your water softener, some include family size, size of your home, length of showers, amount of laundry, and other water uses.
As a general rule, for a household of 1-3, an ET42 would be a good choice. An ET50 would be good for a household of 2-5, and the ET64 is great for larger families and homes. If you are a family of 5 with more than average water usage, you would want to upgrade to the ET64.
Just remember, it is always okay to go bigger than you need, but going too small can cause you problems.
