When my husband and I were poor newlyweds, he got me a giant cookie the size of my head from a local bakery for Valentine's day.... and it might still be my favorite Valentine's gift he's ever given me! That cookie was sooooo good!
If you're like me and plan on spending several hours in the kitchen preparing for Valentine's day this week, check out these delicious love day dessert ideas! I could make every single one of them----- and I just might!

Valentine's Day Box Ideas
When I was a kid, Valentines Day meant decorating a one of a kind Valentine's Day Mailbox to take to school to collect valentines from my classmates at our V-day party. Did you guys make them, too? It was always the highlight of the holiday for me!
Now that we live in the land of pinterest and the world wide web, Valentine's Day mailboxes are not what they used to be--- forget simple heart stickers, doilies, and tin foil- now kids are concocting themed Valentine's Day mailboxes. I'm not quite sure how I feel about this; but I must admit, my little eight year old self would have died at all of the possibilities! My first grader has to take a box to school next week, so it looks like we better get started ASAP. If you find yourself in the same predicament as I am and in need of some serious ideas, check these cute boxes out!

Did you make V-day mailboxes as a kid?
And is this still a thing in your community? I guess some things never change!

Storage Room Ideas
What is it about the beginning of a new year that inspires so many people to organize their homes? I admit that I am one of those people and I’ve definitely made my way through some pretty cluttered closets already in the past couple of weeks. It feels so good to open cupboard doors without the fear of falling objects, but I’m dreading my next project - the storage room. Our storage room has become a catch-all for anything we don’t have a place for and anything we are trying to hide before guests come. If you’re like me and ready to start organizing, check out some of these storage room ideas and see if they’ll help get you started!
Storage Room Ideas
Pull everything out of storage room and go through your boxes and piles. If you haven’t touched that thing shoved way back in the corner in months, if not years, then you probably won’t miss it if you donate it or throw it away. Purge your storage room!
Put everything in bins to keep them organized. You can color coordinate the bins according to what’s in them (holidays, seasons, specific products, etc.) or stick with clear bins that will allow you to see what is in each box. Label your bins so you know where things are without searching too hard.
via Tiphero
If you have wall space, use it! Install a pegboard to hang smaller objects or shelves for bins and boxes. Make sure regardless of whether or not you have wall space to use you keep things frequently used within easy reach.
Last but not least, make sure everything has a place and there isn’t anything loose on the floor. Loose items on the floor invite more clutter, so to make sure you avoid just tossing things into the room.
Good luck and share any ideas you have for keeping storage rooms organized with us!

Cozy Beds
Is there anything more wonderful than climbing into a cozy bed after a long, cold day? Add some tea and a good book and honestly, I don’t think you could find something more appealing. If your bed is not so cozy and you find yourself tossing and turning all night long, don’t keep just hope something will change. You too can have the cozy bed you’ve always dreamed about and RC Willey will help you make it happen.
Cozy Beds
The first thing you need is a good mattress. If your mattress is sagging, lumpy, or more than 10 years old you definitely should consider getting a new one. If you still aren’t sure, check out this guide to know whether or not it’s time to get a new mattress.
Once you figure out what mattress works for you, it’s time to get the right sort of bedding. You won’t be sorry if you splurge a little bit on sheets and having a clean, white down comforter will keep your room feeling simple and clean.
Invest in a headboard. As someone who didn’t have a headboard for a very long time, it makes a huge difference one you have one! Your bed not only looks more complete and put together, but it also makes sitting in your bed way more comfortable. An upholstered headboard like this would make reading in bed as comfortable as lounging on your sofa!
via Decoist
Don’t forget the pillows and a throw blanket! Obviously, the number of throw pillows you have is a personal preference, but if you have to dig your way through to reach the actual bed, you may have too many.
While this technically isn’t part of the bed, choosing the appropriate lighting will make a huge difference in the overall comfort level of your bed. The softer light from a bedside lamp is much more inviting than a harsh overhead.
At RC Willey, you'll be able to find exactly what you need to make your bed the coziest place in your home! How have you made your bed cozy this winter?

Game Day Stats
Are you ready for the Super Bowl this Sunday??
Would you believe it if I told you that I honestly have NO idea what teams are even going to be playing football? Don't worry though- I've already gone grocery shopping for food that we are taking to the Super Bowl party we're attending. Ha! Anyone else out there like me? Maybe it's the fact that I was an advertising major in college, but for me, the Super Bowl is 100% about watching the commercials (and rating them!), viewing the half time show, and eating good food. I don't even watch the football part!
If you're like me and are intruiged by the whole culture itself of the Super Bowl, here are some interesting game day statistics:
- The advertising revenue from the 2017 Super Bowl stood at around 419 million U.S. dollars.
- In 2017, a 30 second spot commercial during the Super Bowl cost 5 million dollars.
-Super Bowl Weekend is the slowest weekend for weddings in the United States.
- The average consumer plans to spend an average of $82 U.S. dollars on Super Bowl Sunday (this includes food and beverages, televisions, furniture, team apparel, etc.
- In 2019, players on the winning team stand to make $124,000 U.S. dollars for playing in the game. Players on the losing team will receive $62,000 U.S. dollars. Not a bad gig, right?!
- The all-time Super Bowl viewing record was reached in 2015. 114.4 million people watched!
Whether you like watching the football, or you're in it for the advertisements, you can't go wrong watching it on a sweet TV!! This is the perfect week to upgrade your current TV situation- just in time for the big day! Check out RC Willey's amazing selection of televisions!
