How to Declutter
It’s so easy to feel overwhelmed and overcome with clutter. If you’re like me and get frustrated every time you end up digging through a drawer for minutes at a time looking for a pen or fingernail clippers, it might be time to make some changes. When it comes to decluttering, it’s important to remember that everything doesn’t have to be done at once. Make a list of the places you need to declutter and start with the easiest job first. After you’ve completely finished that job, stop! Only do one job at a time so that you have the drive to keep going.
In my quest to figure out the best (and least overwhelming) way to declutter my home, I found an article from Becoming Minimalist that had a couple of good ideas I wanted to share with you below!

- Give away one item a day for a year. It might seem really small and like you aren’t making a lot of progress, but after a year you’ll have gotten rid of 365 things!
- Have everyone in your family grab a trash bag and fill it as quickly as possible with either garbage or things to be donated. A whole lot of junk can fit into a garbage bag and if you make it a monthly habit, you’ll quickly reduce the clutter in your house.
- Take the 12-12-12 Challenge. Find 12 things you can throw away, 12 things you can donate and 12 things you can put away in their proper place.
