Begin with the Centerpiece
To know what chairs (or benches!) are right for your setup, we recommend starting with your dining table. We want to make sure that the chair and table sizing are conducive to one another. Here are some general guidelines:
- Keep 12 inches between the seat and tabletop to account for leg and arm room.
- If you’d like chairs with arms, allow for 7 inches between the arm of the chair and bottom of the table.
- To visually anchor your dining furniture, allow for at least 36 inches of space between the chair back and wall (or any other barrier).
Types of Dining Room Chairs
We offer chairs with different materials, colors, and styles. And contrary to popular belief, you chair doesn’t have to be a “perfect match” with your table (although we do offer plenty of dining room sets if that’s your jam)! Keeping the table and chair in the same general style is best for decorating. There are many different styles - such as contemporary, mid-century modern, farmhouse, and traditional.
